Calvé becomes Official Partner to European Para Championships 2023

Calvé peanut butter has committed to the European Para Championships (EPC) as an Official Partner. The first edition of the multisport event will take place from August 8-20 in Rotterdam. Athletes in ten different parasports will then compete for European titles.

Calvé is no stranger to the world of (para)sports and will also be fully visible during the EPC. Calvé peanut butter provides building blocks for all children with big dreams. For that reason, the Dutch company has been working with Dutch football association KNVB for many years, mainly supporting the Dutch women’s team. In addition, Calvé has a partnership with the Esther Vergeer Foundation, with which they want to inspire everyone to dream big.

Last year, in collaboration with the Esther Vergeer Foundation, Calvé set up Team Parastars, a team of paralympic top athletes with a mission. Together with para-athletes such as tennis star Diede de Groot, triathlete Jetze Plat, skier Jeroen Kampschreur and snowboarder Lisa Bunschoten, Calvé and the Esther Vergeer Foundation are committed to equal appreciation and attention for all athletes.

“It is therefore an important step to be able to support the first European Para Championships in Rotterdam,” says Jan van den Berg, member of the Unox & Calvé Marketing Team. “A multisport event athletes have worked extremely hard for in order to make their big dream come true: to become European champions and qualify for the Paralympic Games in Paris.”

Tournament Director Jeroen Straathof is therefore delighted to welcome Calvé as Official Partner. “Calvé, despite being a ‘local hero’, is a brand of stature,” says Straathof. “With their years of well-known TV campaigns on the theme “Who didn’t grow up with it?” they have a nice legacy related to sports and athletes since 1985. Through the participation of former para-tennis player Esther Vergeer in these commercials, they also make the link with parasports. So we are very happy that they are a credible partner of EPC.”

“Calvé supports both the Esther Vergeer Foundation and Team Parastars and are thus closely involved in the paralympic movement. They stand for inclusiveness and this partnership gives exactly the exposure and strength we are looking for,” Straathof said.
