Matrix Official Supplier of the European Para Championships 2023

Matrix, the leading supplier of fitness equipment, has entered into a partnership with the European Para Championships 2023. As Official Supplier, Matrix will, among other things, furnish a fitness area in Rotterdam Ahoy for the athletes’ competition preparation. The EPC, a multi-sport event with ten European Championships in various parasports, will take place from 8-20 August in Rotterdam.

Top-class sports facilities, also for para-athletes
Anne-Marie Kuiper, Director Marketing & Customer Service at Matrix, stresses the importance of inclusiveness: “Top-class sports facilities are not always available to para-athletes, and we strongly believe in equal opportunities for all. This is why we are delighted to be involved in the European Para Championships as an Official Supplier. As a leading supplier of fitness equipment, we take our social responsibility seriously. For instance, we have been organising the 10@10 Challenge in the Netherlands for years and are supporters of the Hard Learning School. We also support several top athletes, including Diede de Groot, in their Olympic and Paralympic ambitions.”

Matrix is the world’s largest manufacturer of professional fitness equipment and goes beyond simply supplying high-quality equipment. The company offers customers support in space and facility design, financial issues, staff training and marketing opportunities. With a focus on quality, service, product development, innovation and customer focus, Matrix is a trusted partner in the fitness industry.

Gym/warm-up room at two venues
Jeroen Straathof, tournament director of the European Para Championships, explains how Matrix is contributing to the event: “At our request, Matrix is setting up a gym/warm-up room at two locations: Tennis Club Victoria, where the preliminary rounds of wheelchair tennis take place, and Rotterdam Ahoy, where several sports take place. This allows all athletes to use a gym on a daily basis and prepare optimally for their European Championship matches. This is an important addition, especially given the non-evidence of such facilities in the world of parasports.”

The European Para Championships is a unique event that brings together 10 different parasports. Athletes will compete for European championships over two weeks in Para cycling, Para archery, Para badminton, Wheelchair tennis, Boccia, Goalball, Wheelchair basketball, Para judo, Shooting para sport and Para taekwondo. This multi-sport event not only offers athletes the chance to compete for gold medals, but also to gain qualification points or direct qualification for the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.
